Q: Why was King Trust Company created?

A: The idea for King Trust Company was prompted by the Philanthropy Protection Act of 1995. This act changed some of the rules regarding how foundations manage Revocable Living Trusts (RLTs). It became evident to King Trust Company's parent company, The Free Methodist Foundation (FMF), that it would be prudent to have a bank handle the investing of RLTs. In addition to this service, a bank would also allow FMF to more fully serve its donors by handling IRAs, and retirement fund transfers and rollovers. The bank could also invest non-charitable monies for individuals and institutions requesting this service. King Trust Company, N.A. was thus created to broaden and enhance the ministry already begun by The Free Methodist Foundation.

Q: How did King Trust Company get its name?

A: The bank's name is derived from the fact that Christ is the King, and He is King of our lives. King Trust Company is committed to serving Christ and our clients to the very best of our abilities.
